Born in Eyen-Meyong de Monotélé in the south of Cameroon, Sally Soleone Nyolo has been living in Paris since the age of 13. Between 1982 and 1994 she established herself as one of the finest voices of African music, first with the Zap Mama collective, and then as a solo artist. Nyolo returned to Cameroon in 1998 and has been on a crusade to resurrect her country’s traditional music ever since. In 2006, she released her most ambitious project so far, Studio Cameroon, which focuses on little-known musicians from her homeland.
